Paulo. It was already dark when the aircraft landed on runway 35L at 18h51. Difficulties in braking the motor in reverse left and right engine at high speed, the plane made a left turn and went off the track in its final third, covering over part of a lawn. After crossing flying over Washington Luís Avenue, which borders the airport, the aircraft hit part of the coverage of a gas station and then crashed into a building TAM Express (service charge TAM's), located on the opposite side of Avenue. When crossing Washington Avenue Louis the plane hit even the top of some cars. The aircraft had "plenty" of fuel at the time of landing, and the shock of the aircraft with the four-stores TAM Express caused a major fire at the site. The fire compromised the structure of the building, which was subsequently imploded. Eleven people who worked in the building TAM Express and a taxi driver who was at the gas station next door died in the collision, totaling the death of 199 people.
